Lisboa,

You sent me signals since birth, though it took me 17 years to understand them, and three more to send one back;

Lisboa,

You held three forths of my heart under water in your Tejo, just before it turned to the sea,

Lisboa,

You put nymphs in my path trying to claim the potent remaining forth of me, then slowly begin to eat away my mind;

Lisboa,

You touched me privately but refused my hand in public

Lisboa,

You loved me in three day rages, but never enough to commit;

Lisboa,

You sucked my blood like a leach, but slipped away like a fish,

Lisboa,

You sly old Sea Hag, masquerading under the skins of sloe eyed sirens,

Lisboa,

You lying thief with mercury on your lips;

Lisboa,

Did you grant me my angelīs mercy,
in the form of a dawn eyed exile?

Dear Lisboa,

That angel filled me with diamonds of unbreakable kindness
to illuminate your crevices,
and a map and set of keys to your boxes of me;

Lisboa,

Iīve dredged my heart from the Tejoīs floor, and rung out the watery
saudade,

Lisboa,

Your cold sad wind gusted through the cobwebs of my chest, and left me with a raw gaping cavity,

Lisboa,

I forced my newly united heart back inside of me,
and though it is mostly empty, it is all
mine.

Genius. Touching. I especially liked, "Lisboa,

You touched me privately but refused my hand in public

Lisboa,

You loved me in three day rages, but never enough to commit;"

I know just what you're talking about..yet it does very from person to person.

Lisboa is a city, the capitol of Portugal, but I would also say I know him rather well.. Though he is really a she.

Thatīs what I said when I was your age..
Check where I live ;)

Bob Dylan said something which really hit me "I just knew I was born a long ways from where I was supposed to be."

In love with the ending, with this line as well: "Lisboa, You sucked my blood like a leach, but slipped away like a fish," beautiful simile. And I also adore: "Iīve dredged my heart from the Tejoīs floor, and rung out the watery saudade." This is amazing. Tell me, what is Lisboa?
